NFL Honors Awards Show 2017: Time, TV schedule, and preview
The race for MVP is tight.

Awards are voted on by the Associated Press. Categories include Most Valuable Player, Coach of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year, Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year, and the Sportsmanship Award.
The MVP race should be tight among the top-performing quarterbacks this season: Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, and Matt Ryan.
Ryan is the frontrunner and threw for the league’s second-most total yards (4,944) during his regular season campaign. He connected on 38 touchdowns to just seven interceptions and led a dark horse Atlanta Falcons team to the Super Bowl.
Brady will meet Ryan in Houston, and though a four-game suspension stalled his raw numbers, he averaged the fourth-most yards per game at 296.2. His 28 touchdowns to two interceptions were by far a league-best ratio.
Rodgers’s Green Bay Packers started the season poorly, but the quarterback recovered with a 40-touchdown year and a win over the Cowboys in Dallas in the Divisional Round.
Other awards seem a bit more straightforward. Ezekiel Elliott, with a league-best 1,631 yards rushing, is the sure-fire favorite for Offensive Rookie of the Year. A year after tearing his ACL, Jordy Nelson caught 14 touchdowns to lead the league. He’s the favorite for Comeback Player of the Year.
The Hall of Fame Class of 2017 will also be announced at the show. Finalists include Brian Dawkins, Jason Taylor, LaDainian Tomlinson, Morten Andersen, Don Coryell, Kurt Warner, Terrell Davis, Isaac Bruce, Terrell Owens, Tony Boselli, Alan Faneca, Joe Jacoby, Ty Law, John Lynch, and Kevin Mawae.
