The Super Bowl halftime show is never lacking in theatrics and production value, and Lady Gaga will take those reins during halftime of Super Bowl LI.
Super Bowl 51: Who is the 2017 halftime show performer?
Lady Gaga’s performances always promise to be unique.
We’ll have to wait until about 8 p.m. ET to find out what exactly she has up her sleeve, but one rumor says she’ll have “hundreds of drones” to complement her performance.
Lady Gaga, 30, is a six-time Grammy Award winner who has never shied away from sharing her political thoughts. She’s long been a social activist and an advocate for LGBT rights, so it wouldn’t be surprising if she made a statement.
However, she told an Atlanta radio station that President Donald Trump will not be mentioned during her performance.
“No. That’s not what the show is about,” she told 98.5 KLUC, via Hollywood Life. “The show is coming from my heart to everyone in America that I love so much. This is my country and I’m proud to be a pop star from this country. I’ve traveled the whole world and it’s something special to be from America. I want people that watch the halftime show to feel the greatness of the USA.”
Before she was Lady Gaga, she was Stefani Germanotta, born and raised in Manhattan, New York. She’s also a New York Giants fan.
