Team Fluff jumped out to an early lead, and with dogged determination, held onto it. Team Fluff took home the Lombarki Trophy with a 93-38 win.
Puppy Bowl 2016 results and MVP: Highest Puppy Bowl score ever leads to decisive victory for Team Fluff
Technically Team Fluff won, but really, we all win because the Puppy Bowl is adorable.

It was an impressive rebound for Team Fluff after two consecutive years of embarrassing Puppy Bowl losses to its bitter rival, Team Ruff. A few very good dogs stood out in Team Fluff’s victorious effort, particularly Rory and Nikita in the first half.
These two good dogs, along with their opponent, Daisy, emerged as early contenders for Puppy Bowl MVP. Rory earned MVP honors after his dominant performance.
Rory, a poodle-terrier mix, got into the end zone first for Team Fluff, and kicked off the game with back-to-back touchdowns. He put up three touchdowns in the first quarter.
His teammate, Nikita, not to be outdone, closed down the first half with consecutive touchdowns. She finished with three touchdowns and a field goal, and was awarded the Drive of the Day award for scoring with the ref’s flag.
And Daisy, despite being on the losing end of the Puppy Bowl as a member of Team Ruff, managed to also add three scores for her squad in the first half.
Team Fluff stayed on top throughout the third quarter, doubling up on Team Ruff’s score. The game was chippy throughout, and Team Ruff’s frustration only increased as Team Fluff continued its dominance.
A young, scrappy, and hungry Alexander Hamilpup made it clear he was not going to throw away his shot to try to help his team get a win, even if it meant getting a flag.
Team Ruff tried to orchestrate a late-game rally, getting creative and scoring with one of Team Fluff’s bandanas.
Team Fluff got the win, but really, everyone wins because the Puppy Bowl is fun and adorable and a delight. All of the very good dogs who played in Sunday’s hard-fought matchup are available for adoption, which is the very best thing about the Puppy Bowl.
