The 2017 NFL draft is finally upon us. Thursday night kicks off the first round of the draft, which will extend through Saturday in Philadelphia City Hall. For the past four months or so, prospects have spent countless hours training and meeting with teams.
2017 NFL draft order, Round 1: Will Browns pick Myles Garrett or Mitchell Trubisky at No. 1?
After speculation has built up over months, prospects will finally learn where they’ll be playing in 2017.

Finally, their hard work will pay off. Over the next few days, 253 players will hear their names called at the podium and several others will sign as undrafted free agents.
The Cleveland Browns hold the first overall pick in this year’s draft. Texas A&M pass rusher Myles Garrett is the favorite to go off the board first, but there were late rumors that they could be eyeing quarterback Mitchell Trubisky instead.
The Browns hold an additional first-rounder after trading last year’s No. 2 pick to the Eagles. Cleveland has 11 picks in this year’s draft — tied with the Bengals for the most picks of any team. Surprisingly, however, this is the fewest picks the Browns have held in a draft over the past three years.
Along with Garrett, defensive ends Solomon Thomas and Jonathan Allen should go high in the order. In a year where picking quarterbacks is a bigger gamble than usual, teams could find themselves instead opting to choose players at positions where there is a ton of talent, including safety, tight end, and running back.
Alabama linebacker Reuben Foster and Michigan safety Jabrill Peppers both tested positive for diluted samples at the NFL Combine. Will either of these players fall out of the first round because of it, similar to how Randy Gregory did in 2015? Or will teams take a chance on one or both of these players, like the Broncos did with Shane Ray after he was cited for marijuana possession a couple of days before that same draft?
Draft boards and mock drafts have been all over the place over the past few months. Some players previously graded as first-round talents now appear to be mid-rounders, while combine standouts have skyrocketed up draft boards. But this is the NFL draft, so anything can happen.
