The playoff drought for the Buffalo Bills is a thing of the past, but now they have a tall order: win a playoff game. That’s going to be tough against the Jacksonville Jaguars, one of the most-improved teams in the NFL. They’ll be playing in an AFC Wild Card Game on Sunday at 1:05 p.m. ET on CBS (live stream via CBS All Access or fuboTV).

The Bills needed some help to make it into the postseason, relying on their win that pushed them to 9-7 in the regular season and a Baltimore Ravens loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite some serious issues and some questionable coaching — like the decision to bench Tyrod Taylor in favor of Nathan Peterman, who then went on to throw five interceptions in a single game — the Bills are right where they want to be.

Taylor has completed 62.6 percent of his passes for 2,799 yards, 14 touchdowns, and four interceptions. He’s also rushed for 427 yards and four touchdowns. He’s assisted by LeSean McCoy, who rushed for 1,138 yards and six touchdowns on the season.

The Jaguars entered the season with a lot of question marks, especially surrounding quarterback Blake Bortles. Many Jaguars fans felt that Bortles wasn’t the answer at quarterback, but he’s played well this season. He’s completed 60.2 percent of his passes for 3,687 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions.

He still throws too many picks overall, but he’s been solid alongside a defense that ranked 25th in the league in points allowed a year ago, but second in the league (16.8 points per game) in the regular season.

Bills vs. Jaguars news:

  • The Bills are the seventh NFL team to make the playoffs with a point differential of minus-50 or worse, and all six previous teams won their first playoff game, according to ESPN Stats & Info. That’s a pretty wild stat, and a good sign for the Bills, the feel-good story of the postseason this year.
  • The odds of every single potential playoff matchup have been released, if you’re interested in the general opinion of how each team will perform in the postseason.
  • After Andy Dalton led the Bengals in a comeback win over the Ravens, thus pushing the Bills into the playoffs, Buffalo fans responded by donating a ton of money to Dalton’s charity.
  • The Bills have been a fairly predictable team on the offensive side of the ball this season, and that’s thanks to offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, as noted by the folks at Buffalo Rumblings.
  • On the Buffalo injury report, McCoy is the biggest name for an ankle injury. The injury originally looked serious, but he is expected to play against the Jaguars on Sunday.

Bills vs. Jaguars predictions:

Of the seven experts picking the Wild Card Games for SB Nation, all took Jacksonville to win on Sunday. The OddsShark computer is also picking Jacksonville.
