The New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers have already played each other twice this season, with the former winning both meetings. They will meet in the Wild Card Round of the NFL playoffs on Sunday, with the game beginning at 4:40 p.m. ET on FOX (live streaming available via Fox Sports GO and FuboTV).

New Orleans won the first meeting handily, 34-13, and though the second one was closer, it wasn’t by much. That game ended 31-21 in favor of the Saints. Drew Brees threw for 220 yards and three touchdowns in the first meeting, while Cam Newton had just 167 yards, no touchdowns, and three interceptions.

Things went a little better for Newton the second time around, as he completed 17 of 27 passes for 183 yards and a pair of touchdowns while rushing for an additional 51 yards. Brees only threw for one touchdown and 269 yards in that outing, but was assisted by 148 yards of rushing from Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara.

The Panthers rank 11th in the NFL in points allowed per game, while the Saints are right above them at No. 10. New Orleans allows significantly more yards, but they are stingy when it comes to the red zone. The Saints are not typically considered a strong defensive team, but that side of the ball has been very consistent this season.
