Baltimore Ravens starting guard Alex Lewis sustained a neck injury in the team’s game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday. Thankfully, the injury did not turn out to be serious.

Lewis was strapped to the backboard with a neck injury in Week 6, but he could be back in the lineup in Week 7.
“It looks good. There’s no serious kind of injury there in terms of neurological issues,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said Monday. “He’s possible for this week as far as I know right now.”
Harbaugh added that Lewis will be monitored throughout the week before his status for Week 7 will be decided.
It was a scary moment Sunday when Lewis went down with the injury. He was immediately surrounded by medical personnel. He remained down for some time, and was eventually strapped to a backboard, with his head and neck immobilized. He was then taken off the field on the cart to an ambulance.
The Ravens stated that Lewis was moving all of his extremities and was being transported to Vanderbilt hospital for further examination:
Lewis appeared to lift his hand to signal to his teammates as he was being carted off, according to Jeff Zrebeiec of The Athletic.
Lewis underwent a CT scan at the hospital and was released soon after. He traveled with the team back to Baltimore and underwent further tests on Monday.
Lewis, 26, was a fourth-round pick by the Ravens in 2016 and has missed significant time in his career with ankle and shoulder injuries. He is the starting left guard for Baltimore and could play in Week 7 against the the New Orleans Saints. If he doesn’t, the Ravens could turn to Bradley Bozeman or James Hurst in his place.
