Spread picks for every NFL game in Week 7

I’ve got five picks against the spread I’m feeling strongest about in Week 7, and then a pick for the remaining games.

We’re back for Week 7 of the 2018 NFL season, and we opened things with a hideous affair in the desert that cost offensive coordinator Mike McCoy his job. The Denver Broncos thumped the Arizona Cardinals 45-10 on Thursday Night Football. Nothing went right for Arizona on either side of the ball, and Byron Leftwich is now the new OC.

The return of football means fantasy football and gambling are back in our lives. There is nothing quite like a little football gambling to make games that much more exciting. This season, I am taking part in the Westgate SuperContest. SB Nation’s partners over at Odds Shark are sponsoring my entry again. The contest requires selecting five games each week and picking them against the spread.

I’ll be offering up all five SuperContest entries each week, along with picks against the spread for every game each week. I put together a 2-2-1 performance in Week 6, and went 8-6-1 for for my total picks — both the second straight such performance for me. I’m now 15-12-3 for the year in the SuperContest. Here are my SuperContest entries for Week 7.

BEARS (+3) over Patriots

The Patriots have struggled with consistency on the road, and face a Bears defense that is a step up from anything they have seen to date. Khalil Mack is questionable, but should play, while the Patriots will be without right tackle Marcus Cannon. The Bears are coming off a tough loss to Miami, while the Patriots had a huge primetime win over New England. I’ll take the points at home.

Panthers (+4.5) over EAGLES

Similar to above, Carolina is coming off a brutal loss to Miami, while Philadelphia thumped the Giants in primetime. It’s not an automatic play, but Carolina is a better team right now than the defending champs, and that number is just a skosh too high against Cam Newton and company.

JAGUARS (-5) over Texans

The Texans are in the midst of the least impressive three-game winning streak in recent memory. Divisional games can be tough, especially with Houston’s defense looking good against the run, but this is a game Jacksonville needs to win with ease. The Jaguars might not be the team we thought they were, but they are decidedly better than the Texans.

RAVENS (-2.5) over Saints

The Ravens impressive defense faces a step up in competition in Week 7, but New Orleans on the road is something I‘m comfortable betting against. The Saints have the top-ranked rush defense, and given Baltimore’s struggles on the ground, the game will be in Joe Flacco’s hands. That’s far from ideal, but I’ll lay the points.

WASHINGTON (-2) over Cowboys

Both teams coming into this game off big Week 6 wins, but I think Dallas’ blowout of Jacksonville is a little more of a mirage than Washington’s close win over Carolina. This is a game Washington should be able to cover the point.

Here are all my picks for Week 7:

CARDINALS vs. Broncos (-1.5): Cardinals — LOSS
Chargers vs. Titans (+6.5 — London): Titans
BEARS vs. Patriots (-3): Bears
BUCCANEERS vs. Browns (+3): Browns
DOLPHINS vs. Lions (-2.5): Lions
EAGLES vs. Panthers (+4.5): Panthers
COLTS vs. Bills (+7.5): Bills
CHIEFS vs. Bengals (+6): Chiefs
JETS vs. Vikings (-3): Vikings
JAGUARS vs. Texans (+5): Jaguars
RAVENS vs. Saints (+2.5): Ravens
WASHINGTON vs. Cowboys (+2): Washington
49ERS vs. Rams (-9.5): Rams
FALCONS vs. Giants (+5.5): Giants
