Welcome back for Week 13 of the NFL season! We’re through all the bye weeks, which means the titans of the league will all be in action. That group is narrowed down to the Chiefs, Patriots, Rams, and Saints at this point. The Steelers looked like they might move into a higher tier, but then lost an ugly one to the Broncos. I imagine that cost a few Survivor pool entrants.
Week 13 NFL Survivor strategy and picks
We had one notable upset in Week 12, as we are coming down the home stretch of Survivor pools. We’re back to provide some tips to stay alive this week.

For those new to the contest, a Survivor pool involves picking one team each week that you think will win. If your team wins in Week 1, you can make a pick in Week 2. If your team wins in Week 2, you can make a pick in Week 3, and so on. The catch is that you cannot pick a team twice. You could very well use a heavy favorite in Week 1, but you won’t have access to them later in the year if you’re alive in the closing weeks.
There is plenty of strategy in determining which team you will take each week, and SB Nation is here to help. We’ll take a look at the safest choices, best value picks, and then two trap picks.
Safest picks
I don’t like divisional games, but both seem like winners for the better team. The Raiders stink and Andy Reid is great coming off a bye week. Meanwhile, the Seahawks are inconsistent, but the 49ers showed how bad they can be in their loss to Tampa Bay.
Best value
The Titans are coming off a tough loss, but Marcus Mariota and company are starting to look better. If you haven’t used Tennessee, this might be your spot.
Philadelphia Eagles over Washington
The Eagles are rolling, and Washington is rolling out Colt McCoy. Philly might win, but it will be a close one. A bounce one way or the other could swing this.
