Alshon Jeffery did everything in his power during the first half to make sure that he won the Super Bowl that he guaranteed before the season.

Jeffery’s been a huge problem for the New England defense.

Before he even signed with a team, Jeffery said that he’d win in the Super Bowl this season with the simple statement of, “I guarantee you we’ll win a Super Bowl next year.”
He was right. Jeffery’s role in that was with his three catches for 73 yards on five targets in the first half. While he didn’t have a great second half, he got the Eagles started off, and they ultimately were able to finish.
He scored the first touchdown of the game.
In the first quarter, Jeffery scored the first touchdown of the game with an incredible effort on a leaping grab. He was draped by Eric Rowe and was still able to come down with the football:
It capped off a quick drive for the Eagles — on just three plays and going a chunky 77 yards. It made it a 9-3 game after a missed extra point.
In the second quarter, he kept making plays.
Jeffery looked similar to Willie Mays on this catch in the middle of the second quarter:
Unfortunately for the Eagles, they weren’t able to turn it into anything. But Jeffery made himself an early favorite for Nick Foles, who has been playing in place of the injured Carson Wentz.
He’s also proving Lane Kiffin wrong.
ESPN’s Chris Low did a story in March of 2009, which detailed Lane Kiffin telling Jeffery what would happen if he chose to go to South Carolina instead of Tennessee:
According to Jeffery and Wilson, Kiffin told Jeffery that if he chose the Gamecocks, he would end up pumping gas for the rest of his life like all the other players from that state who had gone to South Carolina.
Jeffery was doing his best to stay awake at that point, but that comment from Kiffin woke him up. He clearly hasn’t forgotten it, either.
”He said it, but it’s not worth talking about,” Jeffery told Low at the time.
But we can’t help but bring it up now. Jeffery’s story has been a fun one.
