When you look good, you feel good. In sports, when you look good, you also play that way. Or at least, that’s the idea.
The 6 sharpest uniforms in the NFL are bold but simple
For the most part, simpler is better.

There’s been many uniform changes in the history of the NFL. Some have been for better, and some have been for worse. But we’re here today to pick out the sharpest uniforms in the NFL in 2018.
Some ground rules for selections: we’re not picking specific road and home uniforms as singular choices. The uniform combinations are the criteria under this particular evaluation, minus throwbacks and one-off alternates like a Color Rush uniform.
There’s plenty of good looks in the NFL, but there are some that stand out above the rest.
There’s a strong argument to be made that these are the best jerseys in the NFL. The current uniforms they wear are essentially a cleaned up version of their original uniforms. They wore them as throwbacks in their last jersey iteration, but they were so clean with the modern look, they had no choice but to bring them back.
The helmets are pretty much the same, but the straight white numbers against the red uniforms is a clean look. The 49ers were doing too much with the dropback shadow combined with the gold trim in the Terrell Owens era.
However, they’ll be donning a nice medium this season when they rock 1994 throwbacks, that have that dropback shadow, but without the trim.
It’s hard to pick against the 49ers.
Much credit to the Carolina Panthers for getting this thing right the first time. Founded as an expansion team in 1996, the Panthers came into the NFL with a perfect look. The Carolina Blue combined with the black and silver is a nice look that isn’t too much, but still sharp.
The logo was slightly adjusted in 2012, but other than that, this has been a flawless look. Their regular black and white home and road uniforms are good on their own, but the alternate Carolina Blue uniforms are a perfect touch.
If the Panthers ever change these up, it might be safe to say that one day they’d eventually get back to this look. It’s timeless.
Why yes, this is definitely a basic look. The silver and black don’t have a whole lot to their uniforms, and they don’t have to. They might even be the most untouchable uniforms in the league.
There’s nothing super special about the Raiders’ uniforms, which is also what makes them so great. Silver and black is a great color combination, and truthfully speaking, there’s probably not a whole lot the Raiders could do to improve upon what they already have.
A good color scheme is half the battle with most of these uniforms. The Raiders pass that test easily, and it makes their uniforms something that will likely never be touched.
The Steelers have never missed in their uniform history. There’s only been two Steeler looks, their currents, which aren’t far from their classics — which they’ll also be rocking this season.
The Steelers took the typical numbers on their uniform and changed them up in 1997, adding rounder numbers for a more modern look. The Iowa Hawkeyes have kept the original Steelers look alive, after the Steelers passed along rights to wear their uniform design, minus the logo.
Another thing the Steelers don’t get nearly enough credit for — a logo on just the right side of the helmet. It’s a subtle, but significant difference for a team with one of the most storied histories in the NFL.
You cannot go wrong with purple.
That’s a starting point with the Vikings. I’m willing to go so far that they’ve never had a bad uniform. That purple combined with the gold is something that can never go wrong (OK, you’d have to try super hard to mess those up, but you get the point).
The Vikings have had a handful of jersey iterations since their inception, and their current threads are up there with the best of them. The jerseys still appear basic, but have a number design that’s unique, while appearing to be classic, along with matte helmets.
Stefon Diggs made sure they would never look better.
Thank goodness they finally got it right. Their last uniforms weren’t all that bad, but when you can’t decide on a helmet color, well, you just look silly.
The Jaguars don’t look silly anymore. In fact, their new threads are some of the best looking in the NFL. We have yet to see them in action, but based on their debut this spring, the Jaguars will not only be looking good with their play, but with their helmets and jerseys, too.
The Jaguars went away from the gold and black helmets, to just a solid black. Combined with the simplistic look (surprise) of the uniforms with a modern color and good color scheme, and you’ve got one of the best uniforms in the NFL.
It will be fun to watch Jalen Ramsey talk his trash in these.
