The Browns can’t have nice things. Last week, they managed not to lose in their opener against the Steelers. It was tie. This week, they spent most of the game leading the New Orleans Saints on the road.
The Browns scored a miraculous game-tying TD on the Saints ... and missed the extra point
Another week without a Browns win.

But the Saints being the Saints and the Browns being the Browns, Drew Brees and Co. engineered a fourth-quarter comeback, scoring a pair of touchdowns to pull into the lead. Just when you thought it was all going to fall apart for the Browns, it didn’t. They scored when Tyrod Taylor found Antonio Callaway for a beautiful 47-yard touchdown to tie it at 18-18.
All they had to do was make the extra point.
They didn’t.
Kicker Zane Gonzalez missed the extra point, the second time he did that in the game. He missed a field goal earlier and a last-second game-tying kick too, probably in no small part to his groin injury that the Browns, apparently, let him try to play through:
With less than a minute to go, the Saints got the ball down the field and kicked a go-ahead field goal.
Browns fans had joked about the idea of another tie, the second step on the way to a 0-0-16 season. But these are the Browns.
