Super Bowl 53 will be played in Atlanta, but the NFL isn’t going with Outkast or any other Georgia natives for the halftime show. Instead, it’ll be Maroon 5 performing on the big stage in February, according to a report from Variety.
Maroon 5, an extremely Super Bowl halftime band, will perform Super Bowl 53 halftime show in Atlanta
The NFL isn’t going with Outkast or any other Atlanta-based musicians for Super Bowl 53.

As pointed out by Variety, many of Maroon 5’s biggest hits have included other popular music stars such as Cardi B, Sza, Kendrick Lamar, and Future, so it wouldn’t be surprising if there are guest performers than join the band on stage. While Maroon 5 is originally from Los Angeles, the pop band fits the bill for what the NFL typically looks for when booking Super Bowl performers.
It will be the first Super Bowl in Atlanta since Super Bowl 34 in January 2000, and the first played in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, which opened in 2017.
Maroon 5 singer Adam Levine has become a celebrity in his own right as a coach on NBC’s The Voice. Super Bowl 53 will be broadcast on CBS, though.
The most recent Super Bowl halftime performer was Justin Timberlake with Lady Gaga, Coldplay, and Katy Perry in the years prior.
