There’s stunning, incontrovertible proof that Big Boi should have been calling the Rams’ plays during the Super Bowl.

Reddit user “Patriots” did a detailed breakdown of Big Boi’s drive in his Cadillac during the Super Bowl LIII halftime show, and compared it to the Rams’ offensive drives during the night. The result is stunning.

Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi combined to perform a not good Super Bowl halftime show that featured Adam Levine not playing the guitar, dancing awkwardly and showing us way more skin than anyone asked for. The man sang one song after another, neglecting his instrument throughout, and ripped off his layers in rapid succession.

Folks, this wasn’t it.

There aren’t many ways to make Maroon 5 interesting. America’s entrant into the Dentist’s Office Waiting Room Rock Band Olympics* was deemed unthreatening enough to serve as the headliner for the world’s mid-Super Bowl bathroom break. This will give the world the opportunity to flip over to the Puppy Bowl and prevent the rage-zombie spawning brain reactions that would come from seeing Tom Brady and Adam Levine’s smug stupid faces within minutes of each other.

Thankfully, there was some hope Spongebob Squarepants can save from the least-anticipated Super Bowl halftime show of all time. He couldn’t — but at least the famous Nicktoon got to at least make an appearance at the big game.

The Super Bowl halftime show is always a big deal. Welllllll, maybe not always. The first Super Bowl’s halftime show had a marching band and a bunch of pigeons.

This millennium, anyway, the halftime show is often the most-talked about part of Super Bowl Sunday. Sometimes that’s a good thing (Prince!) and other times it really isn’t (Nipplegate). Maroon 5 — a safe, if boring choice — is already getting a lot of ink before the game between the Rams and Patriots.

The most controversial — and talked-about — football player in the world hasn’t taken a snap in two years, and he’s certainly not getting near a gridiron on championship Sunday. It’s extremely unlikely that he agreed to be part of the events leading up to the big game. But if you walk into the NFL’s annual fan festival inside the Georgia World Congress Center, just past the Bud Light-sponsored bar and the maze-like NFL Shop and a virtual reality football video game station sponsored by the U.S. Air Force, his presence is there, tucked inside an educational “activation” called Champions of Change.

Super Bowl 53 is nearly here, which means about a million different concerts, events, and other performances surrounding the big game. The biggest of those is the Super Bowl Halftime Show, which is headlined this year by Maroon 5, aka that band Adam Levine sings for when he’s not busy being Adam Levine.

The Super Bowl is set to begin at 6 p.m. ET, with a kickoff time approximately a half hour later (if things are on schedule, which they rarely are) on CBS (live streaming via ). The halftime performance, which also features rappers Travis Scott and Big Boi, can be expected to begin close to 8:30 p.m. depending on the pace of the game.
