This Caleb Williams throw to Keenan Allen is why expectations are high in Chicago

The Chicago Bears are hoping to take a big step forward this year and throws like this from Caleb Williams are why

July and August in the NFL world are the months of eternal optimism.

As training camps begin and a new season looms, all 32 teams begin to take shape — and some fanbases begin to believe.

The Chicago Bears are one of those teams, as an injection of talent via free agency and the draft has expectations soaring in the Windy City. A huge part of those lofty expectations? Quarterback Caleb Williams. If the dynamic quarterback and former Heisman Trophy winner can live up to the hype surrounding him, the Bears could indeed be very good again next season.

Williams is absolutely under a microscope as training camp rolls on in Lake Forest, but throws like this one to Keenan Allen will do nothing to diminish those expectations:

ven when you remember that A: We are talking about practice and B: The players are not in full pads, this is an impressive throw from Williams. First of all he is rolling to his left, which adds a layer of difficulty. But Williams does a tremendous job generating torque in his upper body, snapping his left shoulder towards Allen and then snapping through the throw, creating that torque in his upper body and helping generate velocity.

Then there is the placement. With Allen working towards the sideline, Williams puts this throw in a perfect spot.

Oh, and the final point: Both his feet are off the ground when he is making this throw.

This is just one throw, made in practice against teammates, and not in full pads.

But it is a perfect example of why the expectations are so high in Chicago.
