Cam Newton actually found a way to leave Stephen A. Smith speechless

Cam dropped one of the wildest comparisons on ‘First Take’

Cam Newton continues to make his post-football foray into media, and it’s getting absolutely buck wild. Newton appeared on First Take Thursday to give his opinion on whether it’s okay that Mark Andrews hasn’t spoken to the media since his disastrous playoff game that essentially handed an AFC Championship berth to the Bills after fumbling the ball, and dropping the game-tying two-point conversion.

Cam immediately leapt to the player’s defense saying it’s fine that he hasn’t said anything publicly, before comparing Andrews’ silence to that of Fox Sports in the wake of their sexual misconduct lawsuit.

You know you’ve said something wild when Stephen A. Smith is left tight-lipped and unable to say anything. Much of the Fox lawsuit centers on Smith’s former ESPN co-host Skip Bayless, which is likely why Stephen A. didn’t want to say anything.

On the one hand I do understand where Cam is coming from. He’s trying to say that everyone in sports should be held to the same standard if they don’t want to speak publicly, but also — man, this is a weird way to go about it.
