The Philadelphia Eagles begin their postseason journey on Sunday, when they host the Green Bay Packers on Wild Card Weekend. The game is a rematch of the season opener for both teams, won by the Eagles in the first NFL game ever played in Brazil.

Update (Friday): Nick Sirianni stated on Friday that Jalen Hurts has cleared the concussion protocol and is ready to go this weekend:

Updates (Wednesday): According to Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, Hurts is expected to practice on Wednesday. This is the first step toward the QB being ready for this weekend’s game against the Packers.

Hurts was listed as a limited participant in practice.

On Tuesday the Eagles waived reserve quarterback Ian Book, another sign Hurts will be available this weekend.

In that game Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts completed 20-of-34 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns, along with a pair of interceptions. But the QB’s status for this weekend is a question mark as of Monday.

Hurts suffered a concussion in Philadelphia’s Week 16 loss to the Washington Commanders, and according to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, he remains in concussion protocol:

Hurts was replaced by Kenny Pickett in that Week 16 game, and the Philadelphia backup connected on 14-of-24 passes for 143 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Pickett also suffered a rib injury in that outing, but was able to start the following weekend against the Dallas Cowboys. In that win over Dallas the Eagles clinched the division title, and Pickett completed 10-of-15 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown.

However, Pickett left that game early after aggravating the rib injury, and he did not play in Week 18. Third-string passer Tanner McKee started for the Eagles in their season finale, completing 27-of-41 passes for 269 yards and a pair of touchdowns, without an interception.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
