Saturday Night Live honored its 50th season with a special event on Sunday night, featuring several musical performances, former cast members, special guests, and some of the best sketches from the show’s lengthy run.

Manning, who hosted Saturday Night Live back in 2007, was part of a Q&A in the special, with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler answering questions from audience members. Manning was one of those audience members, and as you can see at the 8:10 mark of the below video, he asked whether longtime produce producer Lorne Michaels would be retiring now that Saturday Night Live has reached 50 seasons.
In his extended question, Manning roasted his “brutal” retirement days:
“Lorne, never retire. It is brutal out here. They have me doing all these commercials,” joked Manning. “Insurance, beer … I did one the other day for something called Fan Fight Power Monster 3. I don’t even know what the hell it is. I just assumed it was a video game. But then in the last voice over I said, ‘Now in diet chili flavor.’ I hate being retired.
“No, seriously, Lorne, getting old sucks. You feel like such a loser. [Zach] Galifianakis knows what I’m talking about.”
Manning’s appearance hosting Saturday Night Live back in 2007 included many memorable moments, including this digital short where Manning plays football with kids, ultimately pelting them as well with passes and berating them for poor play:
