The cones are set, the pads are being set up, and records are ready to be broken. The 2025 NFL Combine on-field drills begin today with the defensive line and linebackers--the most important position groups in Indianapolis at Lucas Oil Stadium this week, and there’s a whole lot to be discovered. With most of the NFL draft order in flux after the top guys, the Combine can be used to boost their stock a full day up the draft board.

Here’s everything you need to know about the 2025 NFL Combine.

How to watch the Combine

You can watch Day 1 of the NFL Combine on NFL Network starting at 3:00 pm EST. You can also stream it on NFL Network+.

When to watch the Combine

On-field drills start Thursday, Feb. 27 and run through Sunday, Mar. 2.

What on-field drills are taking place at the Combine?

The most popular of the drills is the 40-yard dash, which saw Kansas City Chiefs’ WR Xavier Worthy set the new record for fastest 40 in Indy last year with a 4.21 time. In addition to the 40, the broad jump, vertical jump, bench press, 3-cone drill and short shuttle will be tested for athlete’s strength and explosiveness. After that, the players will go through positional drills that are run by NFL assistant coaches.

You can follow the full results on NFL Network’s live tracker.

Who isn’t participating?

  • Penn State EDGE Abdul Carter
  • Georgia EDGE Mykel Williams
  • Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders
  • Michigan DT Mason Graham (only doing bench press)
  • Penn State TE Tyler Warren
  • Boise State RB Ashton Jeanty
  • Michigan DT Kenneth Grant
  • Michigan CB Will Johnson
  • Colorado CB/WR Travis Hunter

What to watch for

All eyes should be on the offensive and defensive lines. While this class doesn’t have the top end talent at positions like QB and WR, the trench play is incredible. With Carter not working out, there’s prime opportunity for other guys to make a leap and take some of the attention away from him. Boston College EDGE Donovan Ezeiruaku has a chance to make a lot of noise, coming off an outstanding senior season and Senior Bowl circuit.

In addition, the offensive line group has a lot of questions that can be answered with a good workout in Indy. LSU offensive lineman Will Campbell is a top 10 player on my big board, but how he moves laterally and how he measures could be the difference between him playing tackle or guard at the next level.
