Jeremy Strong truly gets into character in incredible Dunkin’ Super Bowl commercial

The “DunKings” are back.

Last year Dunkin’ aired a commercial during the broadcast of Super Bowl LVIII that featured Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez, and Tom Brady. Dunkin’ described last year’s commercial as the “latest installment in the ‘Dunkin’ Cinematic Universe’ – a journey that began exactly one year ago when Dunkin’ made its number one fan’s dream come true by allowing Ben Affleck to work in the Dunkin’ drive-thru.”

That commercial featured Affleck, Damon, and Brady as the “DunKings,” a boy-band inspired group singing about Dunkin’ and wearing tracksuits to match.

The company just aired this year’s Super Bowl ad marking the return of the “DunKings,” starring Affleck, Casey Affleck, Bill Belichick, and Jeremy Strong. In the ad the Succession actor truly gets into character, dropping himself into a barrel of coffee grounds in what he calls “the bean method.” The premise of the commercial is a battle of the coffee brands, and at one point Casey Affleck warns his brother that “Jeremy is a method actor, he’s not coming out until he’s ready.”

When the brothers enter Strong’s dressing room, they find him soaking in a barrel of coffee grounds.

The commercial ends with Strong in full Revolutionary garb, truly leaning into Boston’s origin story.
