The 2025 NFL Draft began as expected with Miami quarterback Cam Ward coming off the board first overall to the Tennessee Titans.

The second player off the board was the athlete everybody expected to see, with Travis Hunter Jr. the second-overall selection. Only it was the Jacksonville Jaguars, trading up from No. 5 to No. 2, in a move with the Cleveland Browns for the right to the two-way star.

That was the first of many surprises on Thursday night, as 32 athletes realized their dreams of reaching the NFL.

However, six more rounds remain, with a lot of talented players waiting to hear their names called. Here are the best remaining prospects for night two of the 2025 NFL Draft, with some “big-picture thoughts” after the list.

Note: “Rank” refers to their ranking among the players left available, while “SBN Rank” refers to their pre-draft ranking on the SB Nation Top 100 players produced by JP Acosta.

  • When will Shedeur Sanders’ slide end? One of the major storylines heading into the 2025 NFL Draft was when the Colorado QB would come off the board, but Sanders slid out of the first round completely, and even saw Mississippi quarterback Jaxson Dart creep into the first round after the New York Giants made a trade with the Houston Texans. But with the Cleveland Browns holding a pair of second-round picks early on Friday night, and the New Orleans Saints sitting at No. 40, you would think Sanders comes off the board fairly early.
  • Will we see any other quarterbacks on Friday night? In addition to Sanders, Tyler Shough and Jalen Milroe are both options for teams looking to add in the QB room.
  • Michigan CB Will Johnson was considered one of the top players in the class, but injury concerns have seen the defender slide out of the first round. WIth some teams at the top of the second — the Jets, the 49ers, and the Rams come to mind — that slide should end early on Friday.
  • Some solid wide receivers are still available, after just three came off the board in the first round. Luther Burden III from Missouri leads the way — Burden was considered a Top Five pick before the season began in “way too early mock drafts” — but he is not the only option. The Iowa State duo of Jaylin Noel and Jayden Higgins are still available, as is Stanford’s Elic Ayomanor, Mississippi’s Tre Harris, and TCU’s Jack Bech. All six come off the board in the second round alone.
  • There are also some intriguing pass rushers available. Mike Green from Marshall and Donovan Ezeiruaku both received first-round buzz, but are still on the board as the first night comes to a close. Texas A&M’s Nic Scourton and Landon Jackson from Arkansas are both available as well, and all four could come off the board early on Friday night.
