The Eagles’ social media team was the real winner of the tush push vote

The Philadelphia Eagles were prepared for their tush push celebration.

The tush push lives on.

After weeks of speculation, a proposal submitted by the Green Bay Packers to rewrite the NFL rules and, in essence, ban the play failed. At a meeting of league owners in Minneapolis, and after hearing from none other than Jason Kelce ahead of the vote, the proposal to ban the play fell short of the 75% requirement needed under the league’s bylaws to pass. While 22 teams voted in favor of the ban, teams such as the Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, Detroit Lions, and New York Jets voted to keep the rules — and the Tush Push — in the game.

Who won from this proposed rule change falling short?

Well, you might think that the immediate winners are the Philadelphia Eagles, as they are the team that runs the play more, and better, than anyone else. That may be true once the season begins, but there are some others in the building that are more immediate winners.

Philadelphia’s social media department.

Minutes after the vote failed, the Eagles sent this image on social media with the caption “Push On,” showing Jalen Hurts and the Eagles offense ready to execute the play against ... the Packers:

Next came a quick collection of popular social media memes, including a clip from SpongeBob SquarePants:

Then more memes, including a rather hilarious photo spread of Hurts:

Then the Eagles dropped a 26-MINUTE HIGHLIGHT PACKAGE of the Tush Push on YouTube.

Of course, they also shared a clip of their “most recent Tush Push,” which came in their victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX:

Finally, the Eagles concluded with this:

Dubs all around for the Eagles today.
