George Kittle to open 49ers training camp on PUP list
It's not a surprise, but John Lynch confirmed today the 49ers will place their star tight end on the Active/PUP list to start training camp. It means he can't practice with the team, but can continue doing rehab work on his Achilles tear. It reserves the team the right to place him on the Reserve/PUP list to start the season.
I doubt he'll be ready by Week 1, especially with that long trip to Australia. There's no reason to rush him back, so I would imagine he opens the regular season on the PUP list.
If you're thinking about drafting Kittle in fantasy football, downgrade him a bit on your draft boards.
