Kings Drew Doughty Cleared To Play, Likely Makes Return Thursday Against Lightning

Drew Doughty, who suffered a concussion Oct. 20 against Carolina, was cleared by team medical personnel to return to action, the Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday.

Doughy will likely play Thursday when the Kings, the NHL leader in wins (8) and points (16), take on the Lightning, one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

Doughty could join the team later in the five-game road trip, Murray said.

Doughty, a Norris finalist a season ago, played just under seven minutes in the first period and did not return to the ice after the second period intermission.
