One of the major promotions that happens all across minor league hockey is the Teddy Bear Toss. What happens is when the home team scores a goal, the fans all toss their teddy bears onto the ice in celebration and then all of those bears go to charity. The Calgary Hitmen just recently had theirs that produced 23,096 bears, which is impressive:
What Happens To A Teddy Bear Toss When You Don’t Score A Goal?
The San Antonio Rampage recently had their Teddy Bear Toss on Saturday night and there was one major problem, the Rampage didn't score a goal. Stars goaltender Richard Bachman made 41 saves on the night in a 3-0 shutout win and had this to say about the game afterwards:
“I felt kinda bad about it, actually,” said Bachman, who is 4-0-1 lifetime against the Rampage. “But in a 2-0 game you can’t give them even one.”
For the record, Rampage fans tossed their teddy bears after the Stars third goal which was an empty netter.
