Svatos Claim ‘Low-Risk, High-Reward’ For Predators

Dirk Hoag, writer at SB Nation’s On the Forecheck, is in looooove with his team’s waiver claim of Marek Svatos today. A taste of what he has to say:

The thing I like about Svatos is that he’s got the hands to potentially add some sorely-needed zip up front on the power play. He can beat defenders 1-on-1 and isn’t shy about sniping at the corners. At the very least, he should provide a different look up front than we’re used to seeing.

While this isn’t a cure-all for the Preds’ offensive woes, it’s a very legitimate pickup and comes at basically no cost in terms of hockey assets.

He added that there’s the added benefit of keeping Svatos off the roster of the division rival St. Louis Blues, which is obviously a big help as well. Be sure to head over to OtF for more fan reaction on today’s deal.
