Hurricanes Vs. Bruins: Chara’s Second Goal Gives Boston A Big First Period Lead

That penalty call that nullified a Bruins goal may have bothered Zdeno Chara. In about ten minutes of game time since, Chara’s scored two goals and Boston has out shot the Hurricanes 8-0.

Chara’s second goal of the game came on a 5-on-3 situation late in the period. He received the puck near the top of the right circle and he buried a hard slap shot in the back of the net and behind Justin Peters.

It’s 3-0 Bruins and it looks like they want more. Carolina just wants to get out of the first period alive at this point. It is worth mentioning, however, that according to Cory Lavalette of Canes Country, the last time Cam Ward got pulled, Peters allowed a third goal to make the game 3-0 before the Hurricanes rallied to win 4-3.
