Rangers Vs. Maple Leafs: Gaborik Gets Monkey Off Back With Two First Period Goals; Rangers Lead 4-0

All Marion Gaborik needed was a benching to find the back of the net again. In his first game after being benched. Marion Gaborik scored the first goal of the game and another 2:25 later. The first Gaborik goal was assisted by Sean Avery while his second goal of the game was assisted by Artem Anisimov and Sean Avery. Brian Boyle netted a powerplay goal while Ruslan Fedotenko has scored even strength Marc Staal also has two assists thus far in the game.

The Rangers have scored three goals in the first 13 minutes and two goals in 36 seconds to ultimately chase Maple Leafs goaltender Jonas Gustavsson. Gustavsson allowed three goals on 11 shots and was replaced by Jean Sebastien Giguere who has allowed a goal himself The Rangers have taken over the game at this point and if the Leafs are going to have a chance at all, they will need to find the back of the net quickly. Henrik Lundqvist has not been tested in this game thus far, only facing five shots compared to the Rangers’ thirteen.
