Tobias Enstrom Injury Will Keep Him Out Of 2011 NHL All-Star Game, Too

Add Tobias Enstrom of the Atlanta Thrashers to the ever-growing list of players who will miss the 2011 NHL All-Star Game with an injury. Enstrom broke his his finger on Sunday in the Thrashers’ game against the New York Rangers. This would have been his first All-Star experience.

Via NHL.com:

Enstrom got hit by a shot in Saturday’s 3-2 shootout loss to the New York Rangers, but still played a team-high 25:56. However, he did not play on Sunday in a 7-1 loss at Tampa Bay -- the first game he had missed in his four-year NHL career. His franchise record of 294 consecutive games was broken that night.
He is expected to miss between two and four weeks.

Enstrom joins Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Ales Hemsky and Jordan Eberle as guys who won’t be able to play due to injury. Calgary’s Jarome Iginla will also miss the game for personal reasons.

Iginla is the only player who’s been replaced so far -- by Philadelphia’s Danny Briere. The rest of the spots are still open, and there are just three days until Friday’s draft.
