In what seemed like a period that wouldn’t see a goal, the Eastern Conference scored another four goals to give themselves an 8-6 lead over the Western Conference in the 2011 AHL All-Star Game.
2011 AHL All-Star Game: Eastern Conference Takes An 8-6 Lead After Two
The Eastern Conference started the scoring in the second period at the 10:13 mark in the second period. Robert Bortuzzo from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins which was the second of his night. The Eastern Conference took a 6-4 lead before Sergei Shirokov from the Manitoba Moose gave the Western Conference the first of the only two goals the conference scored in the period.
Jeremy Williams, Jamie Arniel, and Matt Anderson all have found the back of the net for the Eastern Conference while Spencer Machacek scored the only other goal for the Western Conference.
John Curry from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins came into the game at the 10:13 mark of the second period and has made 10 saves on 12 shots while Curtis Sanford of the Hamilton Bulldogs made 9 saves in 13 shots in his only period of work.
The one thing to expect out of the third period is a few more goals before the final horn sounds.
