It's a light Tuesday evening in the NHL this week, but there's still nationally televised hockey on the docket in both Canada and the United States as the Pittsburgh Penguins and Ottawa Senators each make their home openers.
NHL Starting Goalies & TV Schedule, 10/11: Penguins/Panthers
Let’s take a look at the games, the starting goaltenders and the almighty television information. All times Eastern.
7:30 p.m., Panthers at Penguins. Versus, TSN2, RIS, ROOT Sports Pittsburgh. Evgeni Malkin is out of the Penguins lineup tonight, but the team says his lower-body injury is unrelated to the knee surgery that kept him out for the latter part of last season. Brooks Orpik is also out of the Pens' lineup. We'd expect Marc-Andre Fleury to get the nod in the crease tonight, considering Brent Johnson played on Sunday in Edmonton. Jose Theodore gets the start for Florida.
7:30 p.m., Wild at Senators. TSN, FS North, FS Wisconsin, TVA. Craig Anderson starts at Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, the Sens' home opener. He'll go up against Niklas Backstrom for the Wild, despite there being whispers that Josh Harding could get the start. Dany Heatley's in Ottawa, and you know... that's always fun.
