Islanders Vs. Rangers Preview: Game Time, TV Coverage And More

The red-hot Rangers will try to even the season series against their slumping neighbors from Long Island.

It's been one month since the Rangers lost to the Islanders 4-2 in the first meeting between the teams on the 2011 NHL schedule. Since then, the Rangers have gone 9-3, and carry a six-game win streak into this local matchup on Tuesday.

The Rangers (9-3-3) have won with defense. New York is allowing just 2.0 goals per game, the lowest mark in the league. Credit Henrik Lundqvist is tied for the second-best save percentage of any goalie who has faced at least 350 shot attempts.

Meanwhile, the Islanders (4-7-3) have capsized since that first meeting. New York has lost three straight games have won just one of its last 10 contests.
