Ducks Vs. Capitals Final Score: Backstrom Drops Ducks In Overtime 5-4
The Anaheim Ducks held a 4-3 lead late in the third period thanks in part to two goals by Teemu Selanne earlier in the game, as well as the initial goal in the first period by Saku Koivu. Selanne's second goal put the Ducks up 3-0 in the second period and it looked like the Ducks were going to run away with it. Corey Perry scored on a power play goal early in the third to put the Ducks up over the Caps 4-2.
Thanks to Troy Brouwer and Backstrom late in the final period, the Caps rallied back all while Alexander Ovechkin was on the bench. With the loss, the Ducks have now lost three straight games while the Caps improve on their quick start improving to 8-2.
