The Phoenix Coyotes scored the first and last two goals of the game and goalie Mike Smith was almost perfect in a 4-1 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday night. Colorado found the net just once as Smith turned away shot after shot in the dominating win.
Coyotes Vs. Avalanche Final Score: Radim Vrbata Scores Twice In 4-1 Phoenix Win
Smith finished the night with 38 saves, giving up only a second-period goal to Ryan O’Reilly. But the goal was simply a blip on the radar as Phoenix poured in goals of their own throughout.
Taylor Pyatt scored the only goal of the first period, with Radim Vrbata making it a 2-0 lead late in the second. Lauri Korpikoski added a third just 24 seconds into the final period, and Vrbata netted his second goal of the night with time running out to put the cherry on top of the 4-1 win.
