Devils Vs. Flyers Final Score: New Jersey Takes Shootout Win, 4-3

The New Jersey Devils fell behind early, but rallied to down the Philadelphia Flyers in a shootout, 4-3. Patrik Elias and Zach Parise each scored in the shootout as New Jersey netted two goals to Philadelphia’s one, capping a comeback from two goals down.

The Flyers scored the first to goals of the night after a scoreless first period, with Zac Rinaldo finding the net just over two minutes into the second period and Claude Giroux following it up with a goal of his own six minutes later. But New Jersey answered quickly, cutting the Flyers’ lead to 2-1 just 51 seconds later on a Parise goal. Adam Henrique leveled the game three minutes later.

Maxime Talbot gave the Flyers the lead back early in the third period with an unassisted goal. Midway through the final 20 minutes, though, David Clarkson answered to tie the game again. And that’s where it stayed through the end of regulation and overtime.
