Ville Leino has been underwhelming for the Buffalo Sabres since signing a hefty contract this offseason, and for at least the next few weeks, he'll miss out on any opportunity for redemption. Sabres coach Lindy Ruff announced on Wednesday morning that Leino will miss a few weeks with a lower-body injury.
Ville Leino Injury: Sabres Forward Out ‘Weeks’ With Lower-Body Ailment
Ville Leino is out for “several weeks” after suffering a lower-body injury on Tuesday night against the Ottawa Senators.

Ville Leino is out several weeks with a lower body injury suffered last night against Ottawa. Leino played 14:49 in the game but took only one shift in the final 9:25 of play, a 56-second run that ended with 1:01 left.
So it’s pretty clear he had some sort of knee or foot problem he was dealing with. (Just guessing here but players often skate with a broken bone in their foot.
Leino was replaced in the lineup on Wednesday in practice by Matt Ellis. That's the man with 33 points in 201 career NHL games. Seems adequate. For more on the injury, check in with Sabres blog Die By The Blade.
