Penguins Vs. Blackhawks: Matt Cooke’s Shorthanded Goal Ties Game At One In Second

Matt Cooke received a nice feed from Max Talbot on a two on one shorthanded rush to tie the game up at one against the Chicago Blackhawks. On a Craig Adams hooking penalty, the Blackhawks were looking to increase their lead to two goals, but the Penguins penalty killing pressured the Blackhawks and moved the puck up ice and got an odd-man rush up the ice.

The Chicago Blackhakws are still outshooting the Penguins 21-18 through the second period, but the Penguins have outshot the Blackhawks 11-8 in the second period alone. Both goaltenders are having good games with Marc-Andre Fleury making 20 saves while Corey Crawford had 17 saves. The hitting has intensified from the first period with a total of 53 combined hits in the game. The Penguins are outhitting the Blackhawks, 32-21.

Both teams are playing sound hockey and its obviously going to take at least one more goal to win this game.
