Sabres Vs. Lightning: Sean Bergenheim’s Second Goal Gives Lightning 3-2 Lead After Second
Vincent Lecavalier started the scoring in the period with a goal five minutes into the period from Victor Hedman. Hedman did much of the work on the goal making Sabres’ defenseman Andrej Sekera look bad up and down the ice and then fed Lecavalier for the one timer in front of Ryan Miller. Bergenheim’s second goal of the night came seven minutes later to give the Lightning a 3-1 lead. That goal was assisted by Ryan Malone. The Sabres Thomas Vanek scored late in the second period to bring the Sabres back to a one goal game.
The Lightning are outshooting the Sabres 24-16 and 11-5 in the second period. Dwayne Roloson has 14 saves in the game while Buffalo’s Ryan Miller has 21 thus far into the game.
