After just two games on Tuesday night, the NHL playoff schedule is a little meatier on Wednesday night with 10 teams taking part in five games. It’s all Game 4 action across the league, and one team could be playing their final game of the season as the Coyotes face elimination.

Of course, they could also be facing relocation (it’s a tired topic, we know, and sorry Coyotes fans), so this could potentially be the final game in the history of the Coyotes organization. We will see.

The 2011 NHL playoffs kick off on Wednesday night with five games across the league. Here’s a quick rundown on each of the first round games on this first night of real, live playoff hockey.

The 2011 NHL playoff schedule is set, and the second season will officially begin on Wednesday at 7 p.m. when the Pittsburgh Penguins host the Tampa Bay Lightning at Consol Energy Center. Four other playoff series will begin that night, while the other three series will get underway on Thursday.

Below, the complete schedule. The lower seed hosts Games 1, 2, 5 and 7, while the higher seed hosts Games 3, 4 and 6. All times Eastern.

It’s no secret that NHL playoff schedules are run by the television networks, and in the case of CBC’s Hockey Night In Canada, they perhaps have the most pull in that department.
