Carey Price pitched a shutout as the Montreal Canadiens stole home-ice from the Boston Bruins with a 2-0 win in Game 1.

The Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens have had games in their regular season that epitomize the rivalry between these two teams. The fight and goal filled 8-6 game on February 9th and the Max Pacioretty incident one game later on March 8th highlighted the physicality of the season series.
The two teams kept that to a minimum though in the first game of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal matchup as a total of 14 penalty minutes were doled out between the two teams. No fights, no blatantly dirty hits, nothing controversial happened thus far in the series.

Brian Gionta scored all of the goals and Carey Price made all of the saves to give the Montreal Canadiens a road win over the Boston Bruins.
Gionta’s first goal came at the 2:42 mark of the first period from a cross ice pass by Scott Gomez. Gionta happened to be relatively in front of the net and caught Boston’s Tim Thomas out of position on the first goal. Gionta’s second goal came late in the third period on pretty much the same play for Gionta, Gomez fed him a nice pass and he beat Tim Thomas.
