After helping put the Blackhawks on the board in the first period, Dave Bolland netted his own goal to tie the Canucks at two after two periods of play. Cory Schneider went behind the net to clear the puck, but he put it on the stick of the Hawks' Patrick Kane. Kane slipped it to the front of the net, setting up Bolland to score the equalizer at 15:08 in the period. Schneider allowed the first goal on a similar play, though it was Bolland's hit on Dan Hamhuis that sent the puck to Bryan Bickell for the score.
