Danny Briere Gave Motivational Speech During Game 6, But Ville Leino Didn’t Listen

Danny Briere isn't the first guy you think of as a leader in the Philadelphia Flyers dressing room. That title usually goes to Chris Pronger or captain Mike Richards, but Briere is a grizzled veteran with a ton of postseason success under his belt

It makes sense, then, that he spoke up and gave his team a speech as they faced a must-win final third period during Game 6 against the Buffalo Sabres.

So tell me, Ville Leino. What did Briere have to say during his inspirational speech?

“I don’t really listen that much always. I’m in my own little world out there, but I remember he was giving a speech out there. I’m ashamed to say that I didn’t really listen to it. I’m sure it was good.”

Leino scored the game-winning goal in OT, instituting a new “ignore Danny” policy in the Flyers dressing room.
