The Tampa Bay Lightning are just one period away from taking the Pittsburgh Penguins to a Game 7 in the opening round of the playoffs. After a slow start to the game, the Lightning used their momentum from the end of the first period to take a 2-1 lead at the close of the second period.
Peguins Vs. Lightning Score: Sean Bergenheim Puts Tampa Bay In Lead After 2nd Period
Sean Bergenheim put the Lightning in the lead, but much of the credit needs to go to center Dominic Moore because of his no-look, behind-his-back pass. Bergenheim started the play behind the net and lost control of the puck, but a few seconds later it drifted back behind the net. With his back to the puck, Moore passed the puck in front of the red line, exactly where Bergenheim was able to snap off a wrister for the goal against Marc-Andre Fleury.
The Penguins had a chance to tie the game on a penalty shot after Pavel Kubina took Chris Conner down on the breakaway. However, Conner lost control of the puck on his charge to the net and wound up taking a wristshot from 21 feet out, saved by Roloson.
With 20 minutes left, can the Lightning hold on?
