Penguins Vs. Lightning Final Score: Fierce Tampa Bay Attack Leads To 4-2 Victory, Sends Series To Game 7

The Pittsburgh Penguins were unable to secure a series victory over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Monday night following their 4-2 loss. The Lightning started out slowly, but found their groove by the end of the first period and led an intense effort over the final two periods.

Pittsburgh's Pascal Dupuis and Tampa Bay's Teddy Purcell exchanged goals in the first period, while Sean Bergenheim put Tampa in the lead at the end of two periods. Exciting things were poised for the third period.

Just before the four-minute mark in the third period, Jordan Staal tied the game with his first goal of the 2011 playoffs. He received the puck from the wing and slipped it through some traffic on a wrister to tie the game at two. However, the Lightning came back a minute later and played a furious game in front of Marc-Andre Fleury's net. Steve Downie had a shot blocked, but he picked up the rebound and slipped it under Fleury for the 3-2 lead.

Shortly thereafter, Ryan Malone sent Mark Letestu into Fleury and got called for goalie interference. That led to scuffles among the players and sent Victor Hedman and Chris Kunitz to the box for roughing. But Malone struck back later with his first goal of the playoffs. Mattias Ohlund dumped the puck up ice, which Malone picked up and sent to the back of the net.

With the series tied at three, the series shifts back to Pittsburgh for the deciding Game 7 on Wednesday night.
