Bruins Vs. Flyers, Game 1 Final Score: Boston Steamrolls Philadelphia In Decisive Victory
It was a day to forget for the Philadelphia Flyers and their fans, while for the few yellow-clad faithful of the Boston Bruins in attendance, it was a sweet, sweet afternoon at Wells Fargo Center. The Bruins put up seven goals on the home team en route to a 7-3 rout, and in every sense of the word, Boston completely dominated every aspect of the game.
Well, maybe not the power play. That’s still terrible. But in terms of five-on-five play, goaltending, defense, winning puck battles, coaching and hell, fan support, the Bruins were the better club on Saturday in Game 1. David Krejci scored two goals and added two assists, while line mate Nathan Horton added a goal and an assist of his own.

In the meantime, the Wells Fargo Center decibel level is just like a game against Atlanta in November, not the first game of the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

As we prepare for Game 1 between the two teams in the 2011 NHL playoffs, that’s still where we are. Looking back on a year ago, wondering whether or not we’ll see a repeat or redemption. And that’s all fine and good, of course, because after all, these teams are both very similar from the ones that faced off a year ago.
The key for the Bruins will be to get the power play going, especially since the Flyers are an extremely strong five-on-five team. They can be prone to take silly penalties, though, so the B’s will get their chances with the man advantage. It’s going to take a conversion rate better than zero percent, though, to make Philly pay.
