It appears as though the Boston Bruins have issues with three goal leads. We all remember a year ago, when the Bruins blew 3-0 series lead and a 3-0 Game 7 lead to the Philadelphia Flyers before losing it all in the Eastern Semifinals. On Monday night in New York, it all happened again.

The Rangers looked dead and disinterested midway through the second period, and after falling down 3-0, a lot of their fans likely switched over to the big basketball game. That would have been a mistake. Vinny Prospal's goal at the 11:34 mark of the period got things going, and when Prospal scored again with about a minute and a half left in the period, it felt like a hockey game again.
When the third began, you could feel the comeback nearing completion. Tim Thomas held the Rangers off the board for most of the frame, but with four minutes left, Brandon Dubinsky beat him with a backhander in front. Boom, tie game. That wasn't all she wrote, though.
Just a few shifts later, Michael Sauer became the hero.
Surely, Thomas wants that one back. Derek Stepan added an empty netter late and the Rangers earned two vital points in the Eastern standings. As a result, they still control their own playoff destiny.
