There are things we do not know. Among them, the Atlanta Thrashers may or may not move to Winnipeg for the coming NHL season, or even the following NHL season. This is still an unknown thing.
They Won’t Be The Winnipeg Jets, So Let’s Rename The Atlanta Thrashers
We do know, however, that if they or any other NHL team sets up shop in Winnipeg, the team will likely not have the old Winnipeg Jets name. Instead, they’re likely to be the Manitoba Moose or something, keeping in touch with the AHL team that currently calls the city home.
That’s no fun, though. Let’s assume that the Thrashers are moving, and let’s try to re-name them. With the help of Twitter, of course.
With the news earlier Monday that the Thrashers ownership group has started negotiations with True North Sports, the Winnipeg group who wants to relocate them, the #RenameTheThrashers hash tag has popped up on the Twitters.
