VIDEO: Russia’s Circus Goal Against Slovenia At 2011 World Championships

For the Russians on Sunday afternoon at the 2011 IIHF World Hockey Championship, their game against Slovenia was way too close for comfort. Alex Radulov scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal for Russia with just three minutes remaining in the third period to get his bunch out of the contest with a victory.

Slovenia almost tied things up when the puck just trickled past the far post on Evgeni Nabokov's net, but after the close call, the Russians turned in this bit of Harlem Globetrotter-esque magic to seal the deal with under a minute to go.

Sergei Zinoviev was credited with the goal after kicking the puck over to an open Dmitri Karipov, who tossed it back across the crease for where Zinoviev tapped it across the goal line. Just an awesome goal.

Russia has one more game to play in Group A’s preliminary round play. They’ll take on host nation Slovakia on Tuesday in Bratislava. For more on the 2011 World Championships, check in with SB Nation’s Puck Worlds.
