Danny Briere had Game 2 on his stick. If he connects with the loose puck just feet from the wide-open goal, we're talking about an even series and a Philadelphia win right now. Instead, the puck bounced away with just seconds on the clock and we're headed to overtime tied at 2-2.
Bruins Vs. Flyers, Game 2 Score: Tim Thomas Holds Back Philadelphia Charge, Sends Game To Overtime
The Boston Bruins should feel extremely lucky about that fact, too. The Flyers completely controlled the entire third period, outshooting the Bruins 22 to 7 in the period. It was completely lopsided in every sense of the word, and Tim Thomas is really the only true reason we're still playing hockey at Wells Fargo Center.
Brian Boucher was good at the other end for Philadelphia though, too. If you read the last update, you're probably wondering what the hell I'm talking about. Sergei Bobrovsky replaced Boucher during the second period after an apparent hand injury, but Boucher came back to start the third period.
He made one huge stop on the door step against Nathan Horton with about five minutes left that preserved things for the Flyers at the time. Zdeno Chara went to the box late in the period with about 2:30 left, but Boston successfully killed off that opportunity.
And now, extra hockey.
