For a while there in the second period of Game 3 between the Philadelphia Flyers and Bruins in Boston, it looked like there was hope for the road team, trailing 2-0 but turning up the pace and getting more chances on Tim Thomas and the B's.
Bruins Vs. Flyers, Game 3 Score: Philadelphia Gets On Board, But Boston’s Cruising, 4-1
Then, with one quick decision by defenseman Danny Syvret, the tables turned and Boston pounced. Syvret had a chance to throw the puck on net from the top of the circle, but instead, he went for the pretty cross-ice pass and missed. Boston turned it into an odd-man rush and scored their third goal of the game, which certainly felt like a dagger for those in Philadelphia.
Less than two minutes later, Nathan Horton scored one that Brian Boucher should've had -- the only goal Boucher allowed that he had a chance to save, contrary to what you'll read elsewhere over the next 24 hours -- and with that, Sergei Bobrovksky entered the game. Andrej Meszaros scored late to make it 4-1.
Technically speaking, Philly isn’t completely toast just yet. With the offensive firepower they have, you can’t ever count them out of a game, but let’s be real: Tim Thomas isn’t allowing four more goals tonight.
